Differences between the two films

In Roxanne, the men are firefighters but in Cyrano de Bergerac, they are in the army. In Cyrano de Bergerac, they fought with swords for a long time, but in Roxanne they fought only a little. In Cyrano de Bergerac, he is a friendly cousin with the girl, but in Roxanne they have no relationships, only friends. In Cyrano de Bergerac, the girl and the man had a secret marriage, but in Roxanne, they didn't. And also in Roxanne, the man left with the woman's friend. But in Cyrano de Bergerac, the man died in the war. And  in the Cyrano de Bergerac, the woman found out the man who wrote her those letters was Cyrano de Bergerac by him telling her. But in Roxanne, she found out herself. And the last one is, in the Cyrano de Bergerac it has a tragic ending because the woman found out at the last minute, and both of the guys died. But in Roxanne, it has a happy ending that the man and the woman later were together.

My favorite legend is Medusa's head. I don't know a lot of legends and this one I always remember. It is about a monster that has two sisters. She once were a really beautiful lady, but then she was cursed by the god because she lied to them. So whoever saw her face will immediately turn into a stone. However, the hero Perseus was sent to kill the monster and get the monster's head. He got help from a god and got some weapons. So he went to kill Medusa. He used  a mirror to see where is she, and them he killed her. I like the legend because the hero didn't use force or physical strength to kill the monster, he used his intelligence.

I believe that a hero is someone who help people because he or she wants to. He or she is also really nice and can overcome big obstacles. Most of them are always alone since other people will be inconvenient. Spider man, super man, Robert Park, the guy who went into North Korea to film videos, and also some other people are all heros. Traits that heros should have is patient, nice, confident and intelligent. And these traits are universal, not limited.

The difference between the movie and story - Animal Farm

In the story, Mr. Jones is not as scary as in the movie. I think maybe because they want the kids to feel that he is the bad man, so they sort of exaggerated it. And also in the book they describe more characters, while in the movie they focus more on the main characters. In the movie they can act many scenes at the same time, but in the story they can't. And also in the movie, because they already show the image, so it doesn't have to describe a lot of things such as the appearance and stuff. And also I think the movie rushes too much while the story is longer. The story doesn't have so much talk between the animals. While the movie have more and less narrating.

Yes, once i met someone, and she wasn't smiling at all and I thought she will be a mean and not nice girl. But it turns out that she is very nice, and we became friends. When people don't smile, they can be misled that they are not really that nice. Or on the other hand he or she can fake smile to let people think they are nice and it turns out they are mean. When you know this person more you will find out that he or she may not be the person you thought he or she was.

People bully in school and on streets or anywhere, this is a really common thing. But for may many years, people, well maybe adults, are trying really hard to stop people from bullying. People bully people that are too weak or different from others, such as the nerds in schools are often the type that bullies like to pick on. They also like to bully people that are a little different from the others. But I believe that each person has his or her own personality, own looks, everyone is different. Bullies like to bully people so they can show power to the other people that are watching. They want to bully people so other people will be scared of them. They think bullying people makes themselves cool. But the truth is, they do not, they just make people stupid. Also sometimes, bullies bully people to get something they want, such as friends, money or food. Boys bully people mostly from fighting or laughing at someone. But girls bully people by stabbing his or her back. They often talk behind people's back. I have been bullied when I was in fifth grade and also the start of eight grade. In fifth grade, my best friend turn out to be a bully and talk behind my back. And soon everyone started to hate me, and that is when she abandoned me and left me fighting alone. In the start of eight grade, again, one of my best friends started to talk behind my backs. And one thing that she did was she told everyone what I did, although I didn't do it. For example, she will tell one of my friends that I am talking behind that friend's back, but the truth is, I didn't, and the bully did. I hate bullying, and that is why I want to stop them.

- 921, the biggest earthquake strikes Taiwan, it is important to me because I was only three years old, and it was the day when I move into our new house. I was totally scared and couldn't know what was going on or anything. I only knew how my father wrapped me up with a towel and hugged me while he tells me that everything is alright and I should sleep. While doing this, he is also running outside, our whole family was. It was a total disaster although it is not that serious in Hsinchu.

When you analyze a poem, what do you look for? Quick write

When you analyze the poem, the first thing you have to do it, of course, reading it. After reading it, the first thing you have to fine is similes and metaphors. See if there are any of these. And then you can find if there are any personifications. And then you can start to define the important lines in your poem. You have to write down the meaning of the line, not only a summary of it. And then you can read through the poem again to fine any rhythm in it. You also have to find words that rhyme with each other. The last thing you have to look for is the main idea of the whole poem. It may be hard or easy to fine, no matter what, the main idea of a poem is very important.

This poem is a very sad one. For the first stanza, the author is talking about how she doesn’t want to die, but the death god will come no matter what. She is talking about an important thing that people have always wanted to be immortality. The speaker is being sarcastic when she said, “For his civility” which means how nice the person was. The third stanza is about what places they passed when they were driving. She used simile when comparing a house to a swelling if the ground. The author is using exaggeration when she said that centuries felt shorter than the day. The main idea of this poem is that people always want to be living forever, but the truth is that no one can live forever no matter how hard you try. 

Essay Question

In the Women, the tone of this story is a very strong one. It is as if that no one can defeat women. From comparing them to armies can show us how strong and organized they are. The writer makes us think that the women have goal, and they are really sure and definite that they will reacher that goal. "Husky of voice-stout of/Step/With fists as well as/Hands/How they battered down/Doors" Shoe how they defeat all the obstacles before them to reach their goal. She communicates the attitude and feelings by using similes that compare women to armies. The writer also show us how they are so hero like when she said, "To discover books/desks/ A place for us/How they knew what we/must know/Without knowing a page/Of it/themselves". This quote is telling us how the women are working so much for children, although they can't even read. The tone for this poem, Women, is strong and definite.

I think family members may not be permanent, since people die, but the warmth and memories they had together is permanent. Best friends are also permanent until they die. The education that I had may be forgotten, but a bit of it will always be in my brain. For nature, ocean and lakes are permanent but ponds can sometimes evaporate so they are not permanent. Forests are usually permanent. Sunshine and rain will always come, maybe not everyday, but will come after a while. People like us are permanent, while animals are also permanent. Some generation may die, but their next generation will begin. Our language may change, but we will always have a language, so it is also permanent.

A special day was the first day of my middle school. Since I have been in the local school for five years of my elementary school, it was a big change for me. And also my local school was a really big one with seven classes in grade and thirty something students every class. So I was really nervous when I know that there are only 100 students in our school, and there are only five students in my class, or grade. I can still remember hearing the bird singing when I woke up. I can smell my breakfast in the kitchen while I get ready all my stuff. I couldn't really sleep the night before since I was too excited and nervous. But I was not a bit tired. As I walk in to my school peeking around, I can hear old students chatting with their best friends about what they did in the summer, and I can see those new students like me sitting in their sit not talking or evening moving at all. As I walk further, I started to realize how small this school is. With only one floor and a 6th floor as gym, I was shocked because my old school was really really big. As the classes begin, the funnest part was getting to know each other, hearing everyone introducing themselves over and over again every class. And I can also feel the new books I just got, how its so slippery and new. And how every page was so white like snow. After school, I was still really excited as I describe my first day to my mom and my sister, and listening as my sister tell hers. So my special day is finally ending, my excited and nervous day.

I am visualizing a clear blue shy with white and puffy clouds. The sunlight shining on flowers making the water drops reflecting. The air is fresh. Its not too hot but not too cold. With fields and fields of grass. As I stand in the middle of everything, no matter where I look, there is grass. I can see children running and playing in the grass while their parents sit under the tree like they are having a picnic. The smile on the children faces made me want to smile too. As they play and run around with their dog, their parents are watching them with smiles just like I am. I love this scene. This scene make me feel warm and happy, especially the smiles on the children's faces show how naive they are. I often think, why can't we always stay at that time, when we were all happy. The family are happy and I want my family to be to.

When I was listening to this song, I first think about snow and december. Then I thought about the memories I had when I was skiing. But then I think about love, and I think about how love can sometimes hurt but can also make someone smile. And for this person, love made him cried. But I don't agree with him when he said about he doesn't need any friendship. I believe everyone needs friendship and friends.

When I was listening to this song, I think about how the singer, which is a woman, was really really hurt by love. Maybe not love but from this guy that really hurts him. I think about how love can always, at the end, harm one of them or maybe both. And that one that was hurt will usually think about their memories when he or she continues his or her life from little things or normal places. And as I continue on listening, I think about how this singer learned something from this love, and I think it is good. Because maybe she won't made that mistake again.

I think the story, Poison, has a symbol. The poison in the doesn't only means the snake's poison. But also the words that Harry yelled to Ganderbai, the doctor, when they found out that there weren't a snake. The words re also poison because those words made the doctor not comfortable and hurt in his heart just like the poison from a snake can harm people. I think hat the poison is a symbol because I think the title, Poison, can't be that simple. And also I think the main idea of this story is about how mean Harry can be although the doctor tried to save his life. And also talking about racism.

I believe the poem is called the road not taken but not the road taken is because that life has many many choices. You make tons and tons of choices everyday. But what people often do is that after they took and choose this choice, they will think about what will happen if you chose the other That is why the title is called the road not taken.

I have never had to pick between something good for me, or something good for someone I care. But if I really have to, then I think I will choose the thing that is good for that person who I care a lot. If I could save one item from a disaster, I will save a box of christmas cards that my friends gave to me. Those cards are really important to me because they have my memories with them in there. No matter how big or small the card is, they are all really important to me. I came to this school in 6th grade, and that is when I started to get christmas cards.
