Essay Question

In the Women, the tone of this story is a very strong one. It is as if that no one can defeat women. From comparing them to armies can show us how strong and organized they are. The writer makes us think that the women have goal, and they are really sure and definite that they will reacher that goal. "Husky of voice-stout of/Step/With fists as well as/Hands/How they battered down/Doors" Shoe how they defeat all the obstacles before them to reach their goal. She communicates the attitude and feelings by using similes that compare women to armies. The writer also show us how they are so hero like when she said, "To discover books/desks/ A place for us/How they knew what we/must know/Without knowing a page/Of it/themselves". This quote is telling us how the women are working so much for children, although they can't even read. The tone for this poem, Women, is strong and definite.
